My name is Wolf Paulus, I’m a photographer, hiker, hacker, and technologist, based in Sedona, Arizona.
This is my journal, where I share quick thoughts and ideas on technology.

I’m appointed to the advisory committee at the University of California, Irvine, and occasionally speak at conferences and user groups, on topics ranging from Embedded/Mobile Technology to Emotional Prosody and Voice and Conversational User Interfaces.

UPCOMING
February 5-7, 2019 Business of Bots Conference

The Business of Bots, the #1 Bot Conference for Conversational AI, Chatbots, Voicebots, Virtual Assistants and Multimodal, is taking place at the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel on Sutter St. in San Francisco.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, my talk is titled “Affect in Bot Conversations”. You can read about and look at slides of course, but I’d rather meet with you in person in San Fran.
February 22, 2019 Careers in Science: Computer Science Panel at San Diego State University


On Friday February 22nd, I will be a panelist on the Careers in Science Panel at the San Diego State University. The event will take place at the Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center from  1:00PM to 2:30PM

March 11-12, 2019 Conversational Interaction Conference

The CI Conference #CIcon2019 taking place at the DoubleTree San Jose, focuses on dynamic and rapidly developing areas of Artificial Intelligence, like interpreting speech or text.
On Monday, March 11, 2019, my talk is titled “Affect, the ultimate differentiator – The Engineering of Emotion.”

April 29 - May 1, 2019 SpeechTEK, Speech Technology and AI Conference

On Wednesday, May 1st, 2019, I will be speaking at SpeechTEK 2019, The World’s Leading Speech Technology and AI Conference, where my talk is titled “The Engineering Of Emotion”.
